Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a well-known and established method for creating a transparent and credible environmental account. It is a valuable tool that demonstrates the environmental impact of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle.
LCA stands for Life Cycle Assessment. It is a method for assessing the potential environmental impacts and resource consumption associated with a product or service.
LIFE CYCLE IS DESCRIBED AS A PART OF LCA
The concept of a life cycle is described as a part of LCA. In LCA, the entire journey of a product or service is considered, from its creation to its end in an environmental assessment. LCA focuses on examining the entire life cycle of a product, not just individual parts like production within the company. This approach differs from the traditional approach to environmental work in a company.
By viewing products from a life cycle perspective, environmental efforts are concentrated to achieve the greatest possible environmental benefit.
WHAT CAN LCA BE USED FOR?
LCA is used to break down various inputs and outputs at each stage of a product's life cycle - from raw material extraction, logistics, manufacturing, use, and finally disposal or recycling - and estimates the potential environmental impacts they generate. The results of LCA are expressed in several environmental categories, including climate change impacts (carbon footprint), water consumption, acidification, toxicity, ozone depletion, or respiratory inorganic substances (particles).
LCA can be limited to specific relevant stages of the life cycle, but at Teqton, we have chosen to view our products from a "cradle-to-grave" perspective to provide the most accurate picture of our environmental footprint.
Therefore, Teqton's LCA covers all life cycle stages, from raw material extraction and the delivery stage up to the end-of-life treatment of the product, including manufacturing, transportation to the consumer, product use, transportation to waste treatment facilities, etc.
"The Teqton Way" is an expression we use to illustrate all life cycle stages in our production.
